Originally by: Blyss Jorgon So I am trying trading. I have done my research, read several guides, and I just seem to waste money no matter what I do.
First I tried taking t2 items from one station and selling them at a another when they have a respectable difference, ie couple hundred thousand. I had about 600mil seed money, but now it is just all lock up in assets and I keep getting nickel and dimed by broker fees in this .01 isk wars. I made sure at least 200 units of the item are sold a day, thinking if I buy 50 then it should sell nominally fast, but as soon as I put up any order someone undercuts me by .01 isk. Now I know that will happen so I try to do the same, but this entire time I am having to pay broker fees, and honestly I feel like I am not making any more money over the amount of attention vs missioning.
I have tried smaller orders, hoping they will sell out before someone undercuts me, but that works to varying degrees. Sometimes it sells out in 10 minutes, but if it takes any longer I am undercut. And honestly I don't feel like sitting here all day babysitting these orders.
So what am I doing wrong? I am trying the buy order and go to another region and sell, but I just foresee the same undercut bullcrap happening. So, what I am doing wrong? Should I go for more orders with less volume. Should I go for less active markets? Should I go for less active hubs? Do you always have to do this? If so then how do people say they start the day with lots of isk, end and end it with little, because how it is currently going I am going to get undercut before I even make it from my computer to my bed, which is about 5 feet away.
I had that same problem, just with more ISK. I had a bit more time and wanted to experiment a bit. So for about a week I played the isk war with t2 items in jita, just setting up buy orders and sell orders. I made a billion or so that way. But that billion was not worth it at ALL for the time I spent updating every 5 seconds. After that I went to trading in items that are over 100mil/ea only. Volume is MUCH less, price is much higher so less competition. I only update my orders once every 3-4 days and I can make about 3-4bil/month that way.
I've stopped playing eve even less though, and got into market manipulation. That **** is FUN as hell. The first time I did it my adrenaline went up so much; I bought 8bil of a t2 mod in jita. Other than market manipulation, I find lowsec key systems and seed them with about 3-4bil in mods.
